Birth is the beauty of all that encompasses and surrounds the ceremony of all living

Birth is a gift, that I honor and cherish with reverence.

This path, Is my calling and entails many of my natural abilities to care for birthing women and their families.  I feel I have been given a gift to envision the possibilities of integrating full circle care in honor of women's individual Birth journeys.

My aspiration is to contribute a legacy of love through compassionate care in action, that our daughters and sons are born with the highest honor and respect in which they can be received.

My formative days were shaped within the womb of my mother, accompanying her in her continuous care for birthing families in the specialty multiples ( twins and triplets ) unit of Phoenix hospital. When I would get out of school, I would accompany my mother to the nursery. I have heard numerous expressions and cries of women bridging life earth-side, I have walked alongside my mother, visiting mothers to ensure they were well cared for. I felt empathy for the fragility of life and the vital necessity to care for women and children through a life long walk of commitment.

To care for our bodies, as earth, to choose the ways we embrace Women and Birth is currently revolutionary within the scopes of a medicalized systems influence and perpetuation of roots in suppression and violence of Birthing ceremonies and rites. The history of Birth is a continuous conversation to be invoked as we navigate ancient and new ways of embracing the ways in which we are supported to Birth. What is known and true, is that Birth is Ancient. My hope is that the Birthing women of today and the next generations to come embody the ability to honor, trust, and love their bodies, as a gift of life to be cherished with respect and reverence.

I embrace my life experience as a gift, that I am able to feel confident and comfortable in home-birth settings, as well as hospital births, shall the need arise. I see clearly intricate weavings of support and trauma that may be perpetuated in both settings, for these reasons I stand as a support stick in respects for the woman and birthing families first and foremost. My discretion allows me to abide by the laws of what is just, I hold moral integrity in human rights as the highest law. I am knowledgeable of options for home and hospital Birth, safety formost and the possible benefits and succeeding of both.

I perceive Birth to be in relationship with forces seen & unseen, our unique beliefs, the women who came before us, and current life circumstances, therefore there is no set right and wrong way to give Birth. I encourage choice and support.

I am confident that I  contribute my best efforts in fulfillment of my role and responsibilities as your Birth Doula.

I look forward to seeing how I can best support you in this Beautiful walk of life!

Warmly, Bailey Sonora
